Fry Communications Wins Two "Printers of the Year" Awards

Mechanicsburg, PA - 8/7/07 - Fry Communications, Inc. recently won one Silver and one Bronze award in the 2007 North American Printers of the Year Competition, sponsored by Sappi Fine Papers, in the Magazines category.

Fry won the Silver Award for its printing of the Holiday 2006 issue of Capital File, a Niche Media Holdings publication, and the Bronze Award for the November/December 2006 issue of Boston Common, another Niche Media Holdings publication.

The Sappi Printers of the Year awards competition recognizes print excellence and innovation for work produced on Sappi papers. Printers may submit entries for any of the eight categories: Annual Reports, Books, Brochures, Calendars, Catalogs, General Print, Magazines, and Printer's Own Promotion. Six Silver and six Bronze winners were chosen in each category from a field of almost 2,000 entries representing 339 printers throughout North America.

All entries were judged on the following criteria to ensure the highest possible standards and integrity in the competition: overall impact of the piece; degree of difficulty in the printing techniques; and technical excellence. A panel of four judges, including Dr. Sam Ingram, Department Chair and Professor, Clemson University; Mr. John Lind, Lind Consulting; Mr. Ken Lantz, SVP, Director of Print Creative Services, DRAFTFCB; and Mr. Bill Garno, Director of Printing Applications Laboratory, RIT, reviewed each entry in this year's contest.
