Mechanicsburg, PA - 8/10/2004 - Fry Communications, Inc. has won a Gold Medal for the printing of Gems and Gemology in the Sheetfed Scientific and Technical Journals category in the 17th Annual Gold Ink Award Competition. Gems and Gemology is the official journal of the Gemological Institute of America in Carlsbad, California. Fry also won two bronze and three pewter awards this year.
The Gold Ink Competition is co-sponsored by Printing Impressions and PrintMedia magazines. This year's winners were chosen from nearly 1,600 entries submitted within 46 different categories. The number of Pewters (honorable mentions) varied from category to category depending on the number of entries received. Winning entries surpassed their competitors based on print quality, quality of color separations, technical difficulty, and overall visual effect.
Fry received Bronze Awards in the Web Consumer Magazines category, for the Spring 2004 issue of Philadelphia Magazine's Home and Garden magazine; and in the Web Trade Magazines category for the Interior Design Fall Market Preview issue.
