From the humble roots of local publishing to communications industry leader.
Fry Communications, Inc. began in 1934 as one of the first publishers of weekly shopping guides. A small family operation, the company focused on publishing - but not printing - that shopper for over thirty years. Henry Fry, the current president and owner, purchased the company’s first offset press in 1967.
In 1970 the printing of government and commercial work began. Within five years Fry became the largest federal contract printer in the country. Over the years, Fry's commercial non-heatset printing grew, enabling Fry to expand even farther - specifically into business-to-business catalogs and trade and consumer magazines.
Right now, over a million square feet of manufacturing space has the Fry name on it. Inside those buildings are nearly two dozen presses, over two dozen binders, a vast array of auxiliary equipment, and almost 1300 employees.
As you can see, this privately-held, family-owned company enjoys strong financial resources and longevity in the information industry. The continuous and steady expansion for almost 75 years is a strong indicator of the success and stability of our corporate outlook.
